Slushy, mucky mess

It's been raining steadily all day, and the snow is falling off of everything in huge moist chunks. Ick. There are still trees down across a lot of roadways, but the streets are slowly getting more passable. Our icicles have dwindled to mere shadows of their former selves (which is good, because they were starting to look like giant teeth hanging from our back door's awning). Mostly I just hope the temperatures stay high enough that this doesn't all freeze. What a nightmare that would be...

As I was perusing the internet today I ran across this awesome picture on The 'I'm Gonna Do That' Girl's blog (she's fabulous, go check her out):

I can't wait to see these. ON FIRE.
I'm really excited for The Hunger Games to come out. It seems like they're making an effort to be faithful to the book, which is always nice. I enjoyed the book immensely. It was enthralling without wallowing in its own angst (the novel takes place in sort of a post-apocalyptic America). The characters, while young, were developed and lacked that annoying vacuousness that so often infests YA (young adult) books. I think the casting was well done, judging by the trailer. Jennifer Lawrence is no slouch as Katniss, anyway, so I have hope.

Alright, I have GOT to read these books. I see the same thing on her blog yesterday and had no clue what it was! Agh I hate being behind on cool literature.

Hope your ice land diminishes quickly and gives you back your normal life! Much love my dear, xoxo.

Oh they're definitely worth reading. I think I've read them three or so times now. There is a LOT of action, which I love. I hope you like them! The movie's coming out in March, if you wanted to make sure to read the book before then. Mwah!

I'm glad your weather situation is improving, darling! I hope, like you do, that the temps stay to where everything doesn't freeze over! And I haven't even heard of these books or this soon to be film... I'm so behind the times on some things... *Sigh* Have a lovely evening, darling! <3 <3 <3 *

Our weather is improving too and we FINALLY have power back! I loved the Hunger Games series. Just read Divergent and it reminded me of the series.

I'm glad your snow is slowly disappearing - must be a relief to resume normal life.

I absolutely cannot wait for this movie. I flew through the books, once I got over the whole YA thing.
